After exploring the temples and nightspots of Kathmandu The Oriental Caravan has now arrived in Lhasa, the ancient capital of Tibet.

Kathmandu was as lively and colourful as ever though due to recent events the city could well be approaching a period of change.

On our flight over the Himalayas (first class!) we received views of some of the highest peaks in the world including Mts. Everest, Makalu and Cho Oyu.

Soon after our arrival we crossed the Yarlung Tsangpo and visited the beautiful Samye Monastery, oldest in Tibet.
