Simply brilliant organisation and an inspired itinerary – very memorable. Wonderful trip with fantastic opportunity to experience many aspects of Japanese life and culture. Loved kabuki and shamisen., Tour leader brilliant as always. Caring, helpful, well-informed and focused. Kept group together and was sensitive to individual needs in many ways. Films etc furthered and broadened knowledge and experience. A leader with a literary interest, which is refreshing – probably inherited from his Welsh ancestors!

I thought it was a great itinerary and hugely enjoyed it all. Tsuruoka was the least inspiring (although I was tired too…) but showing the mummified monks DVD added hugely even to that. Haguro San and Osore San were magical and Osore was a once in a lifetime thing. The balance of travel and sightseeing was also just right. Phil added enormously to the trip – informative, knowledgeable and helpful. Everything always seemed to be to totally under control.

For us the itinerary was perfect. Don’t think it could be improved. As well as being taken to places of interest there was plenty of time to do your own thing. The tour leader is a one off!!!
